Stop Anders Fogh Rasmussen

According to International Herald Tribune the danish prime minister is a front-runner for the post as NATO secretary general. But that choice would be a catastrophe.

Say NO to Mr. Rasmussen, because:

1) He has made enough trouble already in the state of Denmark by dismantling human rights and promoting racism.

2) His unconditional support for the idiotic and criminal colonial adventures of President Bush in Iraq makes him a dangerous person on any political post, let alone the number one spot in NATO.

3) He has done absolutely nothing to promote european commitment in Denmark. In fact his close cooperation with the neofascist party of Pia Kjærsgaard has set back the european integration for decades in this country.

4) It would make a mockery of the alleged democratic aspirations of NATO to promote this particular person who has shown nothing but contempt for basic democratic values.

So STOP HIM

And you might add that he has repeatedly lied in front of the danish parliament (that's not something we think, we know it for a fact!).

He was forced to resign as minister of taxes before he got elected as prime minister, because of creative accounting.

He is notoriously known for saying something and doing the opposite.

He has recently circumvented the danish laws of openness in the administration by - illegally by danish law - denying journalists access to his (tax paid) spin doctors communication

He was blacklisting a named journalist (Bo Elkær) for years, denying him an interview solely because he was critical.

And when the ombudsmand ordered him to give an interview, or at least give the journalist a valid reason for not granting him an interview, Anders Fogh Rasmussen - as the first danish minister ever - simply denied to apply the ombudsmands request, undermining the ombudsmand-institution.

Anders Fogh has shown no respect for neither the danish press nor the danish democracy, and has as a huge supporter of George W. Bush, been neglecting international laws for years. He is nothing but a pathetic liar and a war criminal, and thus he will never be suitable as NATO Secretary General!

Oh - did I forget to mention that he and a couple of his friends almost tore EU apart just before the war in Iraq, short-circuiting the diplomacy among the nations of the EU by publishing an open letter in several newspapers recommending EU to go to war with the americans in Iraq. Without even mention the stunt in The Foreign Affairs Committee - man were we taken by surprise!

I think it is a very good idea to put mr. Fogh in front of NATO. A good liar is needed to explain to the world, that the war in Afghanistan is a good idea!
Take a look at www.grevilsupport.dk ...
Danish military intelligence officer Major Frank Grevil has completed a four-month prison sentence for leaking classified reports that contradicted official Danish statements about Iraq¹s "weapons of mass destruction". With credit for good time, he served less than three months and was released on September 10.

Retired Col. Ann Wright tells Grevil¹s story in her new book (coauthored with Susan Dixon) Dissent - Voices of Conscience: Government Insiders Speak Out Against the War in Iraq :
Denmark was among the first countries to join the Coalition of the Willing [...] In August 2002, the Danish government asked its military intelligence service to produce intelligence estimates on Iraq¹s weapons of mass destruction. [Grevil] helped write these classified WMD intelligence reports for Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. The reports, from August 2002 until March 2003, clearly and consistently stated that there was no evidence that Iraq had any weapons of mass destruction.
The day before the invasion of Iraq, Prime Minister Rasmussen told the Danish Parliament, "Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. This is not something we just believe. We know." Grevil was stunned. To convince Parliament to vote to go to war, Rasmussen completely ignored the intelligence reports....
